Raining Again
He is a composed man, with a bit reserve.
He is called President Roy•Mustang.
He has been the most successful President of the country for several years.
Now he’s making a trip to the east, where burying his precious memory, though most of it was ironical enough.
It was his first day that he was entitled Captain and escuaged at Headquarters in east. He found his way safely to the magnificent building, with no whereabouts and his heart going out to his inferior soldiers.
During the war time, he joined the army, fought with enemies, and killed the innocent populace far away from hometown. Meantime, he felt his conscience was perishing subtly and absolutely.
Eventually he learnt a law of survival: unless he became the most powerful person in this country, he could change nothing but obey commends which were crude and cold-blooded.
Therefore, before he climbed to the top of the world, he should live up to the superiors’ expectations. He strategically hid Real Me, and performed as expected as he could.
Every step meant a lot to him. No exact word could describe the danger and hardship of his days. But he thought it worth adventuring.
After years’ fighting through, he was standing in front of his new superior - an elder General, who assumed the airs of kindness making him sick. Roy showed his intelligent demeanor perfectly and cursed under his breath…
A tender smile breaks out on President Roy•Mustang’s face, as if something interesting has brought to his mind.
After the brief meeting, he was introduced to his new subordinates. One of them attracted his attention, who was called Edward.
Edward was very young and thin, with the truly appearance of a child. However, he showed extreme ego of himself. While other subordinates were listening carefully to his speech, Edward seemed to fall asleep.
Roy felt anything but angry. Edward would be his best comrade - his instinct tipped him off. Adding to his delight was the intelligence and abilities that Edward had.
It was after several years that Edo showed the loyalty and became his real favorite.
Without Edo’s help, he might have been assassinated to death dozens of time. Edo also helped him get rid of all the shackles that might disturb him from realizing him dream – becoming the President of the land.
Whereas, Edo never boosted his achievements, though there were too many to mention. Every time after he reported the finished task to Roy, he would clear of the building immediately, leaving Roy dealing with an assortment of files remained to sign, for his sake…
He can still recall the sunny smile blossoming on Edo’s face as if he is standing in front of him.
His best comrade, his favorite, his love…
President Roy•Mustang takes off his glove, puts it on the gravestone with no name on it.
He closes his eyes and says, “Edo, it’s raining again…”
The sun shines, the wind breezes, the man cries.
The story endless.
