That was really a cold rainy night with thunders and lightnings.
　　Nelson has just come back to his hometown from London where he was knighted for his bravery in the recent wars in which he got his left leg broken.
　　At that moment, he was sitting in the single sofa in front of his fireplace looking at the rain without thinking anything, as he has just suffered a lot in his army life. Suddenly, he noticed some movements in his backyard. There are a lot of roses that his dead mother planted all by hands. Nelson went out with his hunting gun which was really useful to threaten the animals come down from the mountains near the small town. He hold his gun tightly and stepped into the yard slightly. With a flash of a lightning, a small figure caught his eye. It was a little boy about 8 or 9. The boy also saw Nelson. He was just frightened and raised his hands.
　　'What are you here for？', Nelson asked without putting down his gun. A thief He thought. He looked over the boy and stopped his sight at his hands. There are several roses in his hands. Um, a thief. Nelson confirmed.
　　'I...I'm sorry, sir.', the boy cried with a scare on his face.
　　'What are you here for？', Nelson repeated and put down his gun a little.
　　The boy was a little relieved. 'My sister, Amy, is ill.', he said with a little nervous,'We lived over there.' Then he pointed at the house behind Nelson's. The boy stopped for a while and looked at Nelson.
　　'Go on.' Nelson said and stood on his right leg to relax the left one.
　　The boy breathed a sigh of relief. 'She liked your garden very much.Your roses are the best ones in this town. But she can't go out since last week. It has rained for two week.The rain is so heavy. The roses may soon fall, I suppose. I want to pick some for her.',the boy said without a stop.
　　'Only some roses？',Nelson raised his eyebrows.
　　'Yes!',the boy said with a smile,but soon he pretended to frown to show his seriousness,'Please! Just some roses!'
　　'All right.Go ahead.'said Nelson.
　　The boy jumped up with a laughter and ran away quickly with shouting'Thank you, Sir!' to Nelson. Um, a rose thief, Nelson thought with a shrug and went back to his house.
　　The next day, the rain stopped at last.With a great sunshine, everyone in the town go out of their homes and walked in the streets happily. Marie, the cleaning lady, came to Nelson's for their appointment of weekly cleaning. She was always a good lady and perfect at cleaning expect for her nagging all the time. She kept talking to Nelson about things happened in the town. Nelson went on thinking of nothing in his sofa. However, some words caught his attention.
　　'...Oh, little Amy cried for two days. How poor they are!...',Marie went on talking.
　　'AmyThe girl living behind me'Nelson asked in a surprise.'Yes.'Marie looked at him.
　　'A poor girl, she is badly ill. And a more terrible thing happened to her.A great sorrow!'She stopped for a while and went on,'Her little brother Billy went to the heaven last week. How can she suffer from it？'
　　What？ Nelson was shocked. Then, who the hell is he met last night？
