前言：所有線索均出自《The Lord of the Rings》、《The Silmarillion》等托老原著的正文及附錄，并附原文及中文對照；時(shí)間段嚴(yán)格按照原著，感情糾葛則純屬YY，請諸君看過后一笑即可，不必當(dāng)真。

　　看電影時(shí)，對攝政王Denethor為何如此地不喜愛小兒子Faramir很是無法理解。以我的蘿莉心來看，F(xiàn)aramir明明是大帥哥一枚，有勇有謀，溫柔堅(jiān)定，是個(gè)十分正面的形象XD。而在原著中，雖然不比電影中表現(xiàn)得明顯，但線索卻更多。Faramir不受待見的歷史雖然跟本文的標(biāo)題不太相關(guān)，但筆者在不懈的YY之下，終于用各處細(xì)節(jié)摸索出了一條基本符合本文主旨的隱線。

　　一、攝政王家系重大事件年份：
　　1.攝政王Denethor，son of Ecthelion，生于2930年。
　　2.攝政王的妻子、Boromir和Faramir的母親Finduilas，daughter of Adrahil of Dol Amroth，生于2950年。
　　3.Denethor和Finduilas成婚于2976年。
　　4.攝政王長子Boromir出生于2978年。
　　5.攝政王次子Faramir出生于2983年。
　　6.Finduilas卒于2988年，只活了38歲。

　　二、攝政王家生活線索：
　　1.Gandalf對Pippin說過這樣一句話——“他（Denethor）和這個(gè)時(shí)代的人都不同，Pippin。盡管他的血緣世代相傳，但由于某些原因，他擁有幾乎純正的Westernesse 血統(tǒng)，他的另一個(gè)兒子Faramir也是這樣，他最愛的Boromir身上卻沒有。”
　　【原文：‘He is not as other men of this time, Pippin, and whatever be his descent from father to son, by some chance the blood of Westernesse runs nearly true in him; as it does in his other son, Faramir, and yet did not in Boromir whom he loved best.’】
　　線索一：同父同母的兄弟二人血統(tǒng)能力有差異。

　　2.Denethor在談及Boromir的死訊時(shí)，曾經(jīng)表露出希望Boromir與Faramir交換的愿望，直接導(dǎo)致Faramir接近崩潰。
　　【原文：‘So be it!’cried Denethor.‘But not with your death only, Lord Faramir: with the death also of your father, and of all your people, whom it is your part to protect now that Boromir is gone.’
　　‘Do you wish then,’said Faramir,‘that our places had been exchanged’
　　‘Yes, I wish that indeed,’said Denethor. ‘For Boromir was loyal to me and no wizard’s pupil. He would have remembered his father’s need, and would not have squandered what fortune gave. He would have brought me a mighty gift.’
　　For a moment Faramir’s restraint gave way. ‘I would ask you, my father, to remember why it was that I, not he, was in Ithilien. On one occasion at least your counsel has prevailed, not long ago. It was the Lord of the City that gave the errand to him.’】
　　甚至在Faramir出征前，做父親的也不愿意給一句祝福，簡直想讓人忍不住問一句：“Denethor，難道Faramir不是你的兒子嗎？”
　　【原文：‘Then farewell!’ said Faramir. ‘But if I should return, think better of me!’
　　‘That depends on the manner of your return,’ said Denethor.】
　　線索二：Denethor對兩個(gè)兒子的區(qū)別對待嚴(yán)重到令人發(fā)指。

　　3.原著有一處暗示Denethor在Faramir受傷后曾經(jīng)使用過Palantir，“他自己則來到了高塔頂端的密室中；當(dāng)時(shí)許多抬頭觀望的民眾看見窗□□出蒼白的光芒，在閃動(dòng)一陣之后，光芒就熄滅了。Denethor從房中下來后，一言不發(fā)地坐在兒子身邊；只是，攝政王的臉色灰敗，比他臥床的兒子看起來還要虛弱�！� 這個(gè)行動(dòng)直接導(dǎo)致了他最后的精神崩潰。
　　【原文：But he himself went up alone into the secret room under the summit of the Tower; and many who looked up thither at that time saw a pale light that gleamed and flickered from the narrow windows for a while, and then flashed and went out. And when Denethor descended again he went to Faramir and sat beside him without speaking, but the face of the Lord was grey, more deathlike than his son’s.】
　　線索三：Denethor看過Palantir后精神崩潰。

　　4.Palantir的作用：
　�、佟澳莻�(gè)字代表的是‘可以望遠(yuǎn)之物’。Orthanc-stone就是其中一個(gè)�！�
　�、凇翱梢钥匆娺h(yuǎn)方，利用思想和對方交談�！�
　　③“如果只有這一枚，其實(shí)只能看見遠(yuǎn)方的事物和過去的影響。”
　　【原文：①'The name meant that which looks far away. The Orthanc-stone was one.'②'To see far off, and to converse in thought with one another,'③’But alone it could do nothing but see small images of things far off and days remote.’
　　線索四：Palantir可以看見遠(yuǎn)方的事物和過去的影響。

　　5.原著附錄中提到Denethor很愛自己的妻子，僅次于對長子Boromir的愛。但是Finduilas早逝。她死后，Denethor陰郁話少，常常獨(dú)自沉思。
　　【原文：She was a lady of great beauty and gentle heart, but before twelve years had passed she died. Denethor loved her, in his fashion, more dearly than any other, unless it were the elder of the sons that she bore him. But it seemed to men that she withered in the guarded city, as a flower of the seaward vales set upon a barren rock. The shadow in the east filled her with horror, and she turned her eyes ever south to the sea that she missed.
　　After her death Denethor became more grim and silent than before, and would sit long alone in his tower deep in thought, foreseeing that the assault of Mordor would come in his time.】
　　線索五：Denethor很愛Finduilas。

　　6.攝政王家系中幾乎所有名字都曾經(jīng)屬于第一紀(jì)或第三紀(jì)的其他精靈或人類。尤其第三紀(jì)末攝政王家的名字原主的命運(yùn)微妙地預(yù)示了后來者的部分命運(yùn)。
　　吐槽：攝政王家取名難道特意跳過命運(yùn)好的么？連Turin這種名字都有，起名的人絕壁有深深的自黑情結(jié)！
　　Denethor：第一紀(jì)Nandor精靈領(lǐng)主，曾住在Ossiriand，聽從Thingol的召喚，在對抗Morgoth的戰(zhàn)爭中戰(zhàn)死。他的子民所剩不多，也沒有再立新王。
　　Boromir：第一紀(jì)Beor家族成員之一，Barahir的祖父，Beren 的曾祖父。有妻有子，壽終正寢。
　　（注：Denethor和Boromir也都是攝政王家系中曾經(jīng)出現(xiàn)過的名字，在此不贅述他們的資料。）
　　Faramir：第三紀(jì)Numenor后裔之一，Anarion的后代。他的父親Ondoher是Gondor國王，他與父親及兄弟一同戰(zhàn)死，姐妹則嫁給了Arnor末代國王。
　　Finduilas：第一紀(jì)Noldor領(lǐng)主Orodreth的女兒。愛上了人類Turin，在Nargothrond陷落時(shí)慘死。

　　攝政王Denethor一家四口，只有Faramir是壽終正寢。那么，大膽推測一下：
　�、僖缘谝患o(jì)人名命名的三人都未活到正常的壽命；以第三紀(jì)人名命名的Faramir結(jié)局圓滿；
　�、贐oromir和Faramir兄弟兩人的名字的原主人之命運(yùn)與兄弟二人之命運(yùn)相反；
　�、鄹赣HDenethor的命運(yùn)與原名主人相似，那么母親Finduilas的命運(yùn)是否也與原名主人相似？
　　線索五：名字預(yù)示部分結(jié)局。

　　三、探秘第一紀(jì)：
　　1.Noldor精靈領(lǐng)主之女Finduilas的命運(yùn)中出現(xiàn)了一個(gè)人類Turin，間接導(dǎo)致了她的悲慘結(jié)局。
　　2.Finduilas原有戀人Gwindor，但她移情別戀愛上了Turin。在Nargothrond陷落時(shí)，F(xiàn)induilas呼喚Turin來救她，此時(shí)Turin被Glaurung蠱惑，沒有聽見她的呼喚聲，她最后慘死在orc的槍下。
　　3.Turin是一個(gè)人類，但他的命運(yùn)與精靈的命運(yùn)交織在一起。Turin幼年被Sindar精靈王Thingol收養(yǎng)，青年時(shí)代離開Doriath，成為亡命之徒的首領(lǐng)。他在一次意外中誤殺了自己的精靈朋友Beleg，之后去了Nargothrond，與Orodreth之女Finduilas相識(shí)。
　　4.第一紀(jì)與精靈命運(yùn)交織在一起的人類共有三個(gè)，Beren、Turin和Tuor。他們的命運(yùn)也有奇妙的相通之處：

　　四、探秘第三紀(jì)：
　　1.第三紀(jì)中有一個(gè)人類的命運(yùn)與精靈的命運(yùn)交織在一起，此人名為Aragorn�？梢哉f，第一紀(jì)所有命運(yùn)與精靈交織在一起的人類的特質(zhì)，都集中在Aragorn身上。
　　2.Aragorn是Numenor的后裔，幼年時(shí)被Rivendell 領(lǐng)主Elrond收養(yǎng)，與Elrond的女兒Arwen相戀并成婚，育有一子Elderion和女兒們。他與來自Mirkwood的精靈Legolas是摯友，在他尋回失落的王位過程中，身為Maiar 的Gandalf給了他非常重要的幫助。
　　3.Aragorn經(jīng)歷重大事件年份摘錄：
　　①生于2931年。
　�、�2933年被母親Gilraen帶到Rivendell，Elrond收養(yǎng)了他，并給他取名為Estel。
　　③2951年，Aragorn得知自己的真實(shí)身世，遇到Arwen，對其一見鐘情，后離開Rivendell。
　�、�2956年，Aragorn遇到Gandalf并建立友誼。
　�、�2957年-2980年，Aragorn以Thorongil的化名在Rohan和Gondor征戰(zhàn)。
　�、�2980年，Thorongil離開Gondor，有人看見他走入東方的陰影。同年，Aragorn進(jìn)入蘿林，與Arwen定情。
　　⑦3017年，Aragorn抓到Gollum，帶著他進(jìn)入Mirkwood。【推測：最晚于此時(shí)與Legolas相識(shí)并建立友誼。】
　�、�3018年，Aragorn加入護(hù)戒隊(duì)。
　�、�3019年，Aragorn加冕成為King Elessar。同年，與Arwen成婚。
　　于是此人類命運(yùn)圖表可以做如下補(bǔ)充：

　　4.Aragorn的經(jīng)歷中有23年在Rohan與Gondor度過。他曾以Thorongil的身份見過攝政王Ecthelion和當(dāng)時(shí)還是王子的Denethor。原著中并未提到Thorongil從Rohan去Gondor的具體年份，但在Aragorn與Eomer的對話中提到他見過Eomer的父親和Theoden。
　　【原文：”You I have not seen before, for you are young, but I have spoken with omund your father, and with Théoden son of Thengel.”】
　　但Aragorn沒有提到見過Eomer的母親，也許是因?yàn)榇_實(shí)沒見過，也許是因?yàn)樗皇菦]有提起而已。但如果以他沒有見過Eomer的母親來推測，那么Thorongil離開Rohan前往Gondor的日期應(yīng)當(dāng)在Thengel 之女Théodwyn出生前。Théodwyn出生在2963年，即Aragorn最晚應(yīng)當(dāng)于2963年便前往Gondor。（其實(shí)這個(gè)日期沒有什么意義，因?yàn)門horongil在兩國都逗留了多年。）
　　5.基本可以確定Denethor與Finduilas成婚于Thorongil在Gondor期間，而他們的第一個(gè)兒子Boromir也生于此期間。

　　五、東拉西扯：
　　1.托老作品中的愛情多數(shù)是“一見鐘情，二見傾心；身外無礙，立即成親�！�
　　2.托老的觀念里，拋卻意外身亡的例子，男性早逝的原因一般是戰(zhàn)死/冒險(xiǎn)而死；女性早逝的原因一般是抑郁而死，而這抑郁通常與丈夫或愛人有關(guān)，與孩子的關(guān)系不大。
　　3.Denethor與Aragorn/Thorongil外表有相似之處，但是人民和他的父親都覺得他比不上Thorongil。
　　【原文：①Pippin saw his carven face with its proud bones and skin like ivory, and the long curved nose between the dark deep eyes; and he was reminded not so much of Boromir as of Aragorn.②Indeed he was as like to Thorongil as to one of nearest kin, and yet was ever placed second to the stranger in the hearts of men and the esteem of his father.】
　　4.Aragorn從20歲起單戀Arwen，49歲與Arwen定情，88歲與Arwen成婚。雖然原著中Arwen正面出場的次數(shù)極少，但是Aragorn每次想起她的時(shí)候，都帶著深沉的愛意，這點(diǎn)從原文中他提到Rivendell的語氣，以及在Lothlorien的睹物思人都可以看出來。依常理推測，這樣的男人很難注意到其他女人對自己的好感，甚至對其他女人對自己的鐘情根本沒有概念。
　　5.Faramir的妻子Eowyn曾單戀Aragorn。而Aragorn的反應(yīng)是：接酒杯時(shí)不小心碰到Eowyn的手，感覺到她在顫抖，立刻收斂了笑容。
　　【原文：As she stood before Aragorn she paused suddenly and looked upon him, and her eyes were shining. And he looked down upon her fair face and smiled; but as he took the cup, his hand met hers, and he knew that she trembled at the touch. 'Hail Aragorn son of Arathorn!' she said. 'Hail Lady of Rohan!' he answered, but his face now was troubled and he did not smile.】
　　6.Finduilas的死因也可以理解為抑郁而死。但有一句很耐人尋味：“it seemed to men”——“在旁人看來”�！霸谂匀丝磥恚褚欢漉r花，在白城里枯萎，恐懼著東方的陰影，而將目光投向南方——她思念的大海�！蹦撬闹姓鎸�(shí)想法是什么？
　　7.Thorongil離開Gondor的方式是“乘船渡過Anduin河，進(jìn)入了陰影中�！�
　　【原文：He was a great leader of men, by land or by sea, but he departed into the shadows whence he came, before the days of Ecthelion were ended.
　　For he took boat and crossed over Anduin, and there he said farewell to his companions and went on alone; and when he was last seen his face was towards the Mountains of Shadow.】
　　8.Denethor與Gandalf不和。而Faramir卻很喜歡向Gandalf學(xué)習(xí)。這點(diǎn)讓他的父親很不滿，但Denethor對其的不滿還有許多其他原因。
　　【原文：But it was not so, except that he did not seek glory in danger without a purpose. He welcomed Gandalf at such times as he came to the City, and he learned what he could from his wisdom; and in this as in many other matters he displeased his father.】
　　9.Denethor最后知道要來取回失落王位的人就是Thorongil嗎？Denethor可以看穿其他人心中的想法，但毫無疑問他無法刺探出Thorongil的內(nèi)心。

　　六、純屬YY：
　　1.Thorongil從Rohan來到Gondor，從此Denethor開始活在Thorongil的陰影之下。他的人民、他的父親都比較喜歡Thorongil。
　　推測：此模式與Turin在Nargothrond、Tuor在Gondolin類似。
　　2.Finduilas此時(shí)是情竇初開的少女；Denethor正愛著她或是后來愛上了她。但她愛上了Thorongil或是移情別戀于Thorongil。
　　推測：①移情模式與第一紀(jì)Finduilas類似。②初戀模式與第三紀(jì)Eowyn類似。
　　【吐槽：悲催的攝政王父子倆！Denethor半輩子都活在Thorongil的陰影里，他喜歡的Finduilas喜歡Thorongil！Denethor的兒子Faramir喜歡的Eowyn也喜歡Aragorn！】
　　3.Thorongil沒有回應(yīng)Finduilas。于是Finduilas嫁給了Denethor。
　　推測：Finduilas得不到回應(yīng)，于是有兩種可能①憤而另嫁；②退而求其次選擇了與Thorongil十分相似的Denethor。但不管是由于什么原因而嫁，此時(shí)Denethor都并不知道真相；③Thorongil必定知道Finduilas的心意。因?yàn)樵诙嗄暌院�，Aragorn很敏銳地發(fā)現(xiàn)了Eowyn對他的心意，立即開始避嫌。這個(gè)舉動(dòng)不但能證明他曾經(jīng)遇到過類似的情況，還能間接證明他知道最后的結(jié)局——Finduilas因無望的愛情抑郁而死。
　　4.Denethor與Finduilas的第一個(gè)孩子Boromir出生在“父母兩情相悅”的時(shí)期。而他的血統(tǒng)也正常地衰退（Denethor的純正血統(tǒng)被Finduilas的血統(tǒng)稀釋）。
　　推測：Boromir的血統(tǒng)能力不如Faramir，但更受父親寵愛。Denethor對兩個(gè)兒子的區(qū)別對待超出了正常范圍。
　　5.Thorongil與Denethor關(guān)系惡化。Thorongil離開Gondor，走入陰影。Finduilas與Denethor的關(guān)系破裂。
　　推測：①Denethor發(fā)現(xiàn)Finduilas愛的是自己痛恨的Thorongil；②Finduilas以為Thorongil已死，開始抑郁。
　　6.Finduilas與Denethor的第二個(gè)孩子Faramir出生在“父母關(guān)系破裂”的時(shí)期。而他的血統(tǒng)并未衰退。
　　推測：①Finduilas偏愛Faramir；②Faramir非常像Thorongil，包括他的能力，他的性格和處事態(tài)度，包括他與Gandalf的友誼；③Faramir前半生的悲劇都是躺著中槍，再大膽推測一下，甚至有可能是Finduilas提起希望他是Thorongil的孩子，直接導(dǎo)致Denethor根本不把他當(dāng)自己的兒子來看待。
　　【吐槽：①Faramir保存著母親的披風(fēng)，并在30多年后送給了Eowyn；A叔你個(gè)人生贏家，30多年前喜歡你的妹子的衣服穿到了30多年后也喜歡你的妹子身上�、谂L(fēng)是深藍(lán)色鑲銀星星。好吧不知道是托老的審美還是A叔的審美，反正Aragorn初見Arwen時(shí)Arwen穿的是藍(lán)色加銀色的衣服……簡直懷疑是Thorongil給Finduilas唱過Luthien之歌或者描述過他心愛的Evenstar的形象！】
　　7.Finduilas不喜歡Minas Tirith，恐懼東方的陰影，思念南方的大海。
　　推測：她恐懼的是“帶走Thorongil”的陰影，思念的是“Thorongil乘船離去”的大海。
　　8.晚年的Denethor原本并不知道要來向他找回失落的王位的人就是給他留下一生陰影的Thorongil；但在Faramir受傷瀕死時(shí)，他用“可以看見過去”的Palantir看了一下……
　　推測：Denethor原以為Thorongil已死，因此才把對他的恨意轉(zhuǎn)嫁到可憐的Faramir身上。但他在兒子瀕死時(shí)才得知Thorongil未死并且將要回來成為國王，F(xiàn)aramir無辜承受了父親半生的恨意，并且即將死去。這才直接導(dǎo)致了他最后的崩潰，并且要和兒子躺在同一張石床上自焚，這個(gè)行為基本可以視為他對兒子最后的歉意。
